AIAI Specialists

AI Specialists

AI Specialists are focused, one-shot skills for specific legal tasks. Unlike the conversational AI Assistant, a specialist takes a defined input (a client, a document, a matter), runs once, and returns structured, cited output — and where it proposes a consequential change, it creates an item in the approval queue for an attorney to sign off.

Every specialist is grounded in your AI firm profile (practice areas, house style, risk posture) and South African legal knowledge, and runs on your organisation’s own Anthropic key (see Integrations). Triggering a specialist requires the AI_EXECUTE capability.

The specialists

FICA Verification

Reviews a client’s FICA/KYC file — their onboarding checklist and uploaded documents — and reports what is complete, what is missing, and the risk level. For a trust or company client it accounts for beneficial-ownership requirements.

  • Trigger: a client’s detail page.
  • Output: overall assessment (complete / incomplete / needs review), risk level, a per-item checklist review, missing documents, and recommended actions.
  • Gate: proposing to mark checklist items complete creates a Mark KYC Complete approval gate — the items are only marked once an attorney approves.

See also FICA Verification for the underlying checklist workflow.

Matter Intake

Triages a prospective matter from a short description: recommends the matter type and template, estimates a fee on the applicable tariff basis, screens existing clients and matters for conflicts, and flags early risks (prescription, deadlines).

  • Trigger: a client’s detail page, with a description of the new matter.
  • Output: matter classification, template recommendation, required documents, a fee estimate (ZAR range), conflict screening result, and risk flags.

Contract Review

Reads an uploaded agreement and produces a clause-level review against your risk posture, with South African statutory references where relevant.

  • Trigger: a document’s detail page.
  • Output: document classification, an executive summary, findings (severity, clause reference, statutory reference, recommendation), and missing protections.

Drafting

Generates a first draft from a template and a matter’s context — filling variables from real data and producing narrative sections in your house style.

  • Trigger: a template / document page on a matter.
  • Output: variable fills (with source and confidence), narrative sections, clause recommendations, and warnings where information is missing.

Compliance Audit

Runs a firm-wide compliance review across your matters, clients, documents, and trust accounting, and grades it.

  • Trigger: the organisation’s compliance settings.
  • Output: an overall grade, category scores, findings (with regulatory basis), and prioritised recommendations — surfacing issues like trust shortfalls or outstanding FICA items.

Every specialist output is a draft for attorney review. Specialists never change a record on their own — anything consequential waits in the approval queue.

What you’ll see

When you run a specialist, HeyKazi shows the structured result, the model used, the run duration, and the cost in ZAR (metered against your monthly budget). Any approval gates the specialist created are listed with their reasoning, ready for review.

Limitations

  • Requires BYOAK — a specialist will not run until an admin configures an Anthropic API key in Integrations.
  • Document-dependent skills need documents — Contract Review and document-based FICA review need the relevant file uploaded to the matter or client first.
  • Budget-capped — if your organisation’s monthly AI budget is reached, specialists are blocked until the budget is raised.
